I am a writer and editor based in New York City. Over the past fifteen years, I've focused primarily on design, interiors, and the built environment. Most of all, I like telling people's stories, often through the spaces they inhabit and the objects they create. My writing has touched on everything from historic preservation and sustainability to wallpaper restoration and topiary.

Previously, I was executive editor at Modern Magazine, covering architecture and the decorative arts, and spent five years as Editor-in-Chief of Barnard College's alumnae magazine. I've also held positions at The Architect's Newspaper, The Magazine Antiques, and Architectural Record's GreenSource. As a freelance writer and editor, my writing has appeared in The New York Times, Fast Company, Metropolis, Architectural Digest, and AD PRO, and I've provided editorial support for Dwell.

I also write a newsletter called DesignTeeth that explores the craft, history, and unexpected edges of jewelry design.

I received my B.A. in American Civilization at Brown University, and a masters from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. I currently live in Brooklyn with my husband, toddler son, and Aussie shepherd.
